At least the cereal was crisp(y).

Think I may start doing this every day. Photographing my breakfast that is, eating has never been a problem.
Almond butter on 9 grain + intelligentsia coffee.

Thought I would photograph my breakfast this morning.
Happy Sunday.

For week four’s photo52 image, I shot a portrait of Terry and Brittany, the mother and daughter duo that own and run Hep Kat fashion. They were great to work with and happy to be a part of the project which always makes shooting more enjoyable. They pretty much gave me run of the store and let me rearrange whatever I wanted, from moving chairs and displays around, to what they were wearing.
Ive been asked about the lighting for this image, so here’s a quick rundown…
High and left is a B800+36” octa for the main light on both ladies, this helped accelera the natural window light already happening, and wrap around them. The octa has a great falloff, and I love the catchlights it provides. There is also a B1600 with a 20 degree spot grid right behind it. This was actually firing into a (lucky for me) aluminum deco ceiling, filling in the the clothing racks and other fixtures in the background, and providing some good ambient texture. Hit up the comments for any other questions, and you can follow the whole project here on my 500px page.
Thanks.

Wanted to share week three of my Photo 52 project. For the following year, I will be posting a photo a week, focusing on small business owners. I am really excited at the doors the project has already started to open, and cant wait to see it grow more. If you own a small business, and would like to be included please get a hold of me, and we will set up a time to make it happen. You can follow the whole project on my 500px page.
Happy MLK day.

Finally made my way into the 500px community! Already really impressed with the layout, community, sharing platform, and image quality. I will be using it to launch my new P52 project (a photo a week), focusing on small business owners. If you, or someone you know owns a small business in the Central Coast and would like to be a part of the project, shoot me an email and well talk.

Shot this last week up at Hearst Castle. Its an incredibly beautiful place and if you have the chance to see it you should. If you were at all into ancient greek or european history, you will have an appreciation for the architecture used there. Its a bit surreal, like walking thru a movie set, but inspiring nonetheless.

is (mostly) back up! I have a couple more galleries to add, and a couple other minor updates to make, but I wanted to get it live and viewable. Would love it if you stopped by and had a look! Feel free to let me know if there are any errors, or things you would like to see. I should have it completely finished by the end of the week! Thanks and happy new year!
